Proffessor Dr. Zulkifilie bin Ibrahim, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International) of UTeM, attended the Eastern Economic Forum and The 14th APEC Conference on Cooperation in Higher Education (APEC CCHE) in Vladivostok, Russia, from 31 August to 7 September 2025.
During his visit, he also held key meetings with several renowned institutions, including Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) and delegations from the Polytechnic Institute as well as the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Technologies in Vladivostok. He was accompanied by Associate Professor Dr. Nadlene binti Razali, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Technology (FTKM).
These engagements paved the way for potential strategic collaborations in the fields of aerospace TVET, IT, and AI. Discussions also explored the development of new academic programmes in aerospace technology at UTeM, alongside opportunities for knowledge sharing, international research funding, and potential matching grants for collaborative projects involving academic staff from both countries.
This visit has had a significant impact not only on UTeM but also on Malaysia’s higher education agenda. It strengthens UTeM’s position on the international stage, expands its global strategic networks, and supports Malaysia’s efforts in enhancing capacity and competitiveness in technology, research, and innovation.
