What is a student mobility program? Does UTeM offer a student mobility program?
A student mobility program involves the placement of students from one university to another, either locally or internationally, for a specified period. The host university must be recognized by the Senate of the home university.

For UTeM students participating in exchange programs at other universities, the program is referred to as Outbound Mobility, where UTeM serves as the Home University, and the receiving institution is known as the Host University.

There are two types of outbound mobility programs offered:

  1. Credit Mobility:

    • Involves placements lasting one or two semesters.
    • Credits earned at the Host University are recognized by UTeM.
  2. Non-Credit Mobility:

    • Involves short-term placements lasting up to 14 days or more.

Eligibility

The outbound mobility program is open to all UTeM students:

  • Undergraduate: Degree and diploma students.
  • Postgraduate: MSc, Master (coursework), D.Eng, and PhD students.

Program Implementation

The mobility program must be organized by the university as the main organizer, either locally or internationally.

For more information, please contact the Centre for International Students and Mobility (CISMo) at 06-2701012.

What are the Types of Mobility Program Modes Offered?

The mobility programs offered to UTeM students can also be categorized into four (4) main types: Physical, Hybrid, Virtual, and Blended.

1.Physical Mobility Program: This is an academic program organized and implemented by a higher education institution (HEI), either domestically or internationally, as the Host University, involving active UTeM students. It must be attended in person.

2.Hybrid Mobility Program: This is a mobility program where some students participate physically, while others attend virtually, at the same time.

3.Virtual Mobility Program: This is an academic program conducted online, organized and implemented by a foreign HEI, involving UTeM students.

4.Blended Mobility Program: This mobility program involves part of the program being conducted physically, and part of it being conducted online, with the same students attending both physical and online sessions.
