The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International) (TNCAA), Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), conducted a benchmarking visit to the Department of Academic & International Affairs, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (JHEAA UMPSA) on 10th September 2025. The visit aimed to strengthen the management of academic and international affairs through the sharing of experiences and best practices implemented by UMPSA.
The UTeM delegation was warmly welcomed by En. Abd Rahman bin Hj Safie, Senior Manager of JHEAA UMPSA. UTeM’s delegation Led by En. Muhamad Sopian bin Baharom, Deputy Registrar of the TNCAA Office was also exposed to the management of the Academic & International Committee Meeting (JKAA MTUN), internationalisation strategies, and the application of digital technology to enhance the effectiveness of academic governance. The session provided an important platform for generating new ideas to strengthen the administrative and academic management framework at UTeM.
At the end of the programme, YBhg. Lt. Kol. Professor Dato’ Ir. Ts. Ahmad Ziad bin Sulaiman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International Affairs) of UMPSA, joined the session and presented souvenirs to the UTeM delegation. The visit is expected to add significant value to UTeM as it takes on the role of Chair of the JKAA MTUN in the upcoming meeting. UTeM extends its deepest appreciation to UMPSA for the warm hospitality and the invaluable sharing of knowledge throughout this visit.
